Swap'ems are little trinkets that the scouts make to trade with one another and then they hang them on their hats or bandannas. This is the swap'em that Joshua and I made together. Turned out pretty cute!

C.S.I
Joshua has been a Cub Scout Investigator all week long at his twilight cub camp. He has had so much fun shooting BB guns, doing a little bit of archery, making a cross bow, having water fights, and trading swap'ems.

Swap'ems are little trinkets that the scouts make to trade with one another and then they hang them on their hats or bandannas. This is the swap'em that Joshua and I made together. Turned out pretty cute!

Nice Things
The title of this post comes from Kaitlyn. I made both Joshua and Kate make a "nice list" about each other. They were non stop bothering and pestering one another this morning and calling each other names so I made each of them sit down and come up with 20 nice things about the other. At the top of Kate's paper was the title "Nice Things". I then made them stand in front of each other and read their list's that they had written to each other. It was very amusing.
Kate's list about Joshua:
smart
nice
hamsem (handsome)
helps me clean my room
awesome
big brane (brain)
plays music good
funny
sings good
draws good
loves me a lot
plays sports
looks good
reads good
swims good
acts things out good
runs good
smells good
colors good
writes good
Joshua's list about Kate:
funny
fun
awesome
athletic
good soccer player
not mean
a good meep (this is a game that they made up)
good with animals
cool
good at making noises
good at sports
good speller
good thinker
good reader
good at school
good with horses
good at piano (???)
good swimmer
good at guitar (another ???)
good artist
On another note...I haven't heard from Braeden nor do I expect to. My friend Brandi sent me this picture of him and a few of his fellow scouts that she got from her husband. He looks happy so that makes me feel good. We can't wait to see him on Saturday.

Hey Batter, Batter...
We spent last night at the Ballpark in Arlington. I have never been a baseball fan. In fact, I have always thought it is very boring and slow. I think I changed my mind last night. We had so much fun! It was such a good game! The Rangers won 9 to 6 and to top it all off there was an amazing firework show after the game. I can't wait to go again.

School's Out for Summer!!
I don't think anyone is happier about school being done then me. No more waking up early, fighting with tired kids, making lunches in a hurry, and no more homework! (except for Braeden's summer homework...but that's a different post) The next 3 months will be filled with library trips, ice cream cones, visits with family, and pool time. Ahhhh, the lazy days of summer....LOVE IT!
The last day of school.....Josh with some buddies.
Joshua so sad that school is over......NOT! He may have been a tiny bit more excited then me.

Memorial Day Part 2
On Monday we went to Lake Texoma to do some hiking. Who knew it was so beautiful? The trail was super shaded so even in the heat we were able to stay somewhat cool. My kids love to do anything outside especially exploring under every nook and cranny and that they did. We hiked about 4 miles and roasted hot dogs and made smores. We were completely filthy by the end of our little trek, but it was a lot of fun. I would even do it again.

Memorial Day (Weekend) Part 1
We spent all day in Gilmer on Saturday with Cary's family for a reunion. It was super hot, but the kids had so much fun and it was good to see family we have not seen in a long time.
Kate rode a horse for the very first time. I am not sure who the little girl she is riding with...a distant relative, but Aunt B took good care of her and led the way. Kate was thrilled!
Braeden drove golf carts all day long over acres and acres of land. He thinks he is an expert driver now.
