May....according to my phone

Cary napping with Sammy

While I was in Alabama I got this picture from Kate with the message, "Come home".

One day while putting sheets on Braeden's bed I found this baby snake in his room. Yes!...In. His. Room. I was a tad bit freaked out. I was home by myself. So, with a big, long shovel I disposed of it all by myself. UGH!

Kate fell asleep on my shoulder at stake conference

Sammy some how got himself tangled up in a pair of Joshua's undies.

My sister, Tara and I have started sending ugly selfies to each other...usually after a run.

And sometimes just for the fun of it.

Braeden in a horse head

and some other silly hat.

We found this awesome macrame chair at a volleyball tournament we went to.

Braeden and I ran a 10k last Saturday. This was before the race.

And this was after. I finished in just under 64 minutes. Braeden ran it in like 40 something...

Braeden ran with his best friend, Braxton.

Braxton got first in their age group and Braeden got third.

YIKES!

This seems to be a repeated scene every spring/summer. I found this guy crawling up the outside of one of my living room windows this morning as Jillian Michaels was kicking my butt. I still can't seem to get use to this....ugh! It gives me the shivers thinking there are probably more out there that I never even see. Needless to say, the kids will not be playing in the backyard today.

YIKES!

Cary was in the middle of mowing the yard yesterday when he stopped to come in and get the camera. I didn't ask what he was doing. I assumed that the kids must be doing something cute and he wanted to capture it on film. I was wrong. A few minutes later he came in and showed me what he found.....

I guess that is what we get for living so close to the lake.

Creepy Critters

We love our new back yard, but we have found that we have all kinds of creepy things lurking around. I guess since we have a huge field behind us and the lake isn't very far that it is to be expected. WE had our first snake about 4 or 5 days after we moved in. The kids thought it was great. I on the other hand was scared. It moved into a wood pile that was left by the previous owners and stayed there until Cary got home and could catch it. We think it was a rat snake but we aren't sure. We have had rabbits, and tiny little toads, spiders of all kinds, and tons of mosquito's. Kaitlyn loves the frogs. She would stay outside all day if I allowed her to, but it gets to hot and the mosquito's love her. I heard that moth balls will keep the snakes away (I haven't tried it yet) and calling the bug man is on our list of things to do. Until then Braeden, Joshua, and Kate will continue to pretend they are in the Amazon hunting for creepy crawling things. Yuck!
