special day

I love these two girls so much! I have known them both since they were 11 and 12. I was Darci's activity day leader when she was 11. When she moved up to Young Women's I followed her shortly there after. I served in Young Women's with both Darci and Briana almost up until the time they graduated. They have both decided to serve missions. I was lucky enough to go through the temple with them on Saturday. Such a special day. Briana reported to the MTC today. She is going to Alaska. Darci will be leaving in August and serving in Brazil. I am so happy for the both of them. :)

Leiandie's wedding

Cary and I were honored to be invited to Leiandie's wedding. Cary taught her in seminary and I was one of her Young Women leaders for years.  We are so proud of her and love her so much!

Temple Walk

The Young women in my ward did an 18.1 mile walk to the temple. In the end it ended up being a few miles more than that because of a wrong turn but thats ok...that's how life sometimes turns out as well.

We started super early at 4:30 in the morning.

We made some stops along the way and shared some thoughts with them about the temple.

One of our goals as young women's leaders is to help our young women understand the importance of the temple. I found this beautiful picture and gave one to each of the young women. We want them to "keep their eye on the temple".

We also had tons of fun along the way....

About halfway through it started to get hard.  Legs were tired, feet started to blister, and it was hot.  We started to slow down.

But as we got closer to the temple the girls started to get excited.  They even began running towards the temple.

Our families were waiting for us.  Friends were there cheering us on.  It was a moment I will never forget.

We did it! I am so proud of these girls.  This was a very powerful experience for me and one that I will cherish forever....... and never, ever forget.

Grateful

I went to the temple today while the kids were in school. It is so great that we have a temple so close by. When I was teenager we lived in Oklahoma City and I remember waking up really early in the morning on a Saturday to drive the 3 or 4 hours to attend the temple. It was lots of fun, but I remember thinking that it took forever to get there. I really take the temple for granted and don't go as often as I should. As I was sitting through the temple session today I was reminded of how blessed I am. I don't know why I was thinking about this in this particular session but I am really thankful for all that I have. I am especially grateful for a Heavenly Father who loves us sooooo much!! I know that he knows each of us and is aware of what we need. I really felt the spirit strongly today and I felt an overwhelming feeling of love and I am especially grateful for that!!
