Today Kate turns 11. She looked so cute as she went off to school this morning.

We celebrated her birthday with her best friend, Adria this past weekend. We took a little road trip to Houston to see One Direction in concert.

This was taken in the hotel just before leaving for the concert. I think Kate was just a tad bit excited.

After the concert we hung out a while to let the crowds thin out. The stadium was so loud that we sounded like we had been sucking on helium afterwards. It was so funny!

The next day we went to Galveston to hang out at the beach. 

That evening we went to Kemah boardwalk.

We had such a fabulous time together. The concert was fantastic and I think Kate fell more in-love with One Direction than she was before...if that is possible. I loved being with her and watching her watch the concert. That was my favorite part. She was so happy and having so much fun. I don't know how we are going to top this birthday....it was the best birthday ever!

One Direction or Bust

Kate's best friend, Adria celebrated her birthday on Saturday. Adria was sent on a scavenger hunt to find her gift from her parent's. Little did Kate know that she was going to be surprised as well.  Both Adria and Kate were surprised with tickets to see One Direction in August. So, the weekend of Kate's birthday we will be taking a girl's trip down to Houston to see 1D.

Kate has talked about nothing else since Saturday night. She even wrote an essay titled "Our Trip"detailing what will happen that weekend. This is what she wrote:

We will pack up and get all our entertainment systems. Get in the car and begin our road trip. On our way we will giggle and squeal about it. We will plan out where and what we will do. When we get to the hotel we will freshen up and do our posters and SCREAM!!!  When we get to the concert we will look for "Niall security guards". We will also see how crazy the other fans are and see if they can beat our faness.  When the actual concert starts we will stand the whole time and video and take pics and get proof that we were there. We will also get t-shirts and souvenirs. I can't wait!!!!!!!! 1D

Kate built a snowman yesterday with the left over ice. She named him Louis after her favorite boy.

The resemblance is so uncanny. :)

Partyin' with One Direction

Kate had a a birthday last week. She is officially 10 now. To celebrate she wanted to take some friends and spend the day with One Direction. So, we headed out to the theater to see One Direction: This is Us. These girls made me laugh. They were so cute and sooooo excited. I thought they might die of anticipation....we couldn't get to the theater fast enough. But we first had some birthday business to take care of...

This is my favorite picture of the day. These girls had me laughing. They were so excited...for a minute they actually thought One Direction might show up.

It's always a good thing when it's declared the best birthday ever. It was a good day. :)
