Darci & Taylor
This is what happens when you give a teenage girl your camera to hold on to. I asked Darci if she would take pictures as we were delivering goodies to members of our Ward. I knew she and Taylor were taking pictures of themselves but didn't realize how many until after our activity on Wednesday night. Crazy girls...but I love 'em!!

#31
Football season is almost over. We have spent numerous hours with football. At the beginning of the season (it started in July) Braeden's team was practicing four days a week. When school started and the games began the coaches cut it down to Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Most of the games have been 45 minutes to an hour away and Braeden has to be wherever they are playing an hour before the game even starts. On top of that the games are about 2 hours long. Needless to say we have been spending a good chunk of our Saturdays for the last two months doing football. It has been fun watching Braeden play and grow in the sport, but I am so excited it is almost over!! We can have our Saturdays back!

Vacuum Frustrations
I have been without a working vacuum for several days now and I am about to go CRAZY! Anyone who knows me knows that I love a clean house and vacuuming is something I do almost everyday. I don't know what it is with me and vacuums, but I have broken several since I have been married. I don't bang them around or suck up large items.......at least I try not to. I am sure my husband is tired of trying to fix what I have broken or even buying yet another vacuum, but I REALLY miss my vacuum lines!

Childhood Favorite
When I was little my mom would make me and my sisters German Pancakes for breakfast on occasion. We loved them so much! I had completely forgotten about them after I got married. I didn't have the recipe and my mom wasn't around to make them for me anymore.
While my sister, Tara, was here over the summer she wanted to make us some breakfast. She asked if my kids liked German Pancakes and, of course, they had never tried them because I had forgotten about them. So she whipped us up a batch. They brought back so many good memories. (It is funny how food a can do that) They have now become one of Joshua and Braeden's favorite.
Here is the recipe if any of you want to try:
6 eggs
1 c. milk
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
4 T. butter
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. While oven is preheating put butter in a 9x13 inch pan and place in oven to melt. Beat eggs and milk together. Whisk in flour and salt. Pour batter in pan. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes. The pancakes will get really big and puffy, especially around the edges. Serve with powder sugar or maple syrup.

I haven't posted in a while so I felt like I needed to write something although I have nothing new to report. We have been busy with all our normal stuff....mostly school and carting Braeden around to his various activities. I feel like a taxi driver, except I don't get tips. We do have several things to look forward to like the Texas/OU game this weekend (GO HORNS!!) and my mom is also coming for a visit in about a week so I am super excited about that. As for anything else I just have my "To Do" list to get done today. Here is a sampling of what's on my list: dust, vacuum, sweep, do a load of laundry, shake out rugs, work on lesson for YW, and the list goes on but I won't bore anyone who is reading this anymore. Hopefully I can find something more interesting to post soon. Stay tuned! :)

Remember These?
If you are around my age you will probably remember these padded notebooks. They were huge in the early 90's (I can't believe I just said that) The one pictured above is one that I made when I was around 13 or 14. Cutesy fabric, gigantic lace, and of course a picture of my favorite New Kid on the Block.....ugh! I found it in my memory box the other day while looking for my old Personal Progress stuff. I thought that maybe I could update it and then maybe the Young Women in my ward might want to make one for an activity. So here is what I came up with:
I think it turned out so cute! I love it and so did my Young Women!
