we are not photographers

We attempted to take family pictures today. It went surprisingly well knowing how family picture days usually go. We took our tripod and set up the shots ourselves....and we came to the conclusion that we definitely are not photographers.

I can't keep up

I cannot seem to keep up with my blog. We are super busy and this is what drops to the bottom of the list...actually it's not even on the list. I need to be better. Anyway, this is November according to my phone. (Hence the terrible pictures)

Braeden finally received his class ranking after asking for it for over a year.  He is 18 out of 359. I am one proud mama.

Kate just chillin' with some Cheez-it's and her Kindle

I went running one day in 30 something degree weather and I was still sweaty.

We went to Ikea and ate some ginormous cinnamon rolls.

This kid had 2

I repainted the living room. It went from brown to "brandied pear" or white, like my kids like to call it and I accented with slate blue. I LOVE it. It feels so clean and crisp.

I took the kids to see Mocking Jay. Loved it!

Kate got a new dress for church

We went to Austin for Thanksgiving

Most of the Jones cousins minus 4...I think.

And that was pretty much November in a nutshell. At least the parts I documented. :)

September and October according to my phone

We went to several Cross Country meets. The season is now over.

We went to Six Flags. It was hot!

The kids tried lots of Halloween costumes

Kate and I went to see "Meet the Mormons"

We have been to every Home game

We took a trip to Colorado,,,,,more to come on that later.

The FC Dallas soccer team was on our flight home from Colorado

Braeden was thrilled but would not talk to any of them until we were getting off the plane...I was trying to get him to get a picture with any of them. He was so embarrassed.

Joshua had a fall band concert

Braeden carved and and then set pumpkins on fire at Mutual

what's really going on

It's not often that you get a glimpse of what is really going on at school. Sometimes it's hard to get out of the kids how their day really went....other than "fine or good". These pictures were taken on the first day of school by our acting Superintendent. Joshua looks like he is really enjoying himself. This makes me happy.

too hot for dad

As I was preparing to roast some corn on the cob for dinner this afternoon I almost grabbed the cayenne pepper instead of the season salt. I commented on how that would have been a disaster. Cary (the man who has taste buds of steel and enjoys ghost pepper sprinkled on his food) said that cayenne might actually be tasty on his corn. Joshua overheard us talking and then proceeded to say, "The only thing too hot for Dad is Mom." I love that kid. :)

last day of school 2014

Hallelujah! School has come to an end for another year. No more waking up early, rushing around, and go, go, going. We LOVE summer!

I let Joshua stay home the last day of school. He didn't want to go and they weren't doing anything so I decided not to fight that battle. :)

Kate got A/B honor roll for the whole year, a top reader award, a music award, and outstanding effort in Language Arts.

Joshua received A/B honor roll for the whole year and MVP in kick ball.

Braeden received the Plato Award for having insight and being a deep thinker and the Wild West award because even though he turns in his work first, it's always good quality.

I am so proud of my kiddos this year and all of their hard work!
