New Book

I had been hearing a lot about this series of books by Stephanie Meyer about vampires. I really wasn't to interested but I had been craving a really good book to read. Then the Young Women in my ward began talking about them so I decided to give them a try. I started reading the first one titled "Twilight" and I cannot put it down. It is a little cheesy in places but I love it. It is a series for teens, but I usually like teen books. (I am a teen at heart, I guess) Right now it is a series of three books and I don't know if any more are planned, but I can't wait to see what happens next!!

Braeden got guitar hero for Christmas and the whole family fell in love with it. So, for our anniverasry I bought Cary Rockband. (very romantic, right?) It came with a set of drums, a guitar , and a mike. This is what we did for Family Home Evening last night.

Braeden as the Front Man

Crazy Hair Day

This week at Braeden and Joshua's school they are getting pumped up and ready for the TAKS test. So each day they have something different they are suppose to do or wear. Today was crazy hair day. They decided they wanted to rock the faux hawks. Don't they look cute?

Yellow Day

Joshua came home today with his very first yellow day ever. For those of you who don't know what that means it's not a sunshiney, happy day. At school they have a color coded behavior system. Green is good. From there it goes from orange, yellow, red, and purple (your going to see the principal). Anyway, he was devasted. This is what the note from the teacher said, "Joshua changed his card today for not listening and paying attention when Ms. Farley ( student teacher) was teaching math. He was "cleaning out" his school box instead. He was upset and had tears about this, but recovered quickly. Also, he was not the only one to have to change his card today for this reason - several others changed their cards as well." Of course when I read this to him he says it wasn't his fault and that he was listening. All he was concerned about was that he ruined his perfect record. I told him that it really wasn't a big deal and that we all have yellow days every once in a while, and that tomorrow he could start all over with a green day. He felt much better.

Best Valentines Day Ever!

My kids declared this Valentines "the best Valentines Day ever"!! Our day was filled with all things pink, red, and heart shaped. They woke up to heart shape pancakes and Strawberry milk, for dinner they had a heart shaped pizza and cherry 7-Up by candlelight, and for dessert they had smores with strawberry flavored marshmallows. I sent them on a scavenger hunt to find their treat from Cary and I. They had clues like: Roses are Red , Violets are blue, Look under Kates bed to find your next clue. They had so much fun....and of course they think I am the best mom ever!!

Happy Birthday to Me... a Few Days Late

Well, I am officially 32. I have decided that I hate ageing. I know 32 isn't old, but when you still feel like your 22 it's hard. It's even harder when you look in the mirror and you can start to see little lines that weren't there before. I can say though that I have not yet had any gray hairs, but when I do........you will never know thanks to Clairol. Besides all of that, I had a great birthday. I have a wonderful family and lots of really good friends who always seem to spoil me. I felt really loved and special. Thanks to everyone for all the birthday gifts and wishes!! Here are a few pictures but keep in mind I was not dressed for pictures so please excuse the way I look..... Oh! Just so you know these are the last pictures taken with my stinky camera. I got a new one for my b-day......Yeah!!!!

Each of the kids helped in the frosting of my cake. It was my favorite......lemon!

We didn't have 32 to candles, but we had a 2 and an 8 and 4 other b-day candles so we made do.

Beautiful flowers from Cary

Worcestershire Sauce

Imagine a brand new unopened bottle of this crashing onto the pantry floor. This is what happened to us yesterday. The smell was fantastic and it was loads of fun to clean up!! Why is it that ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, and even mayo come in a plastic bottle? Have the worcestershire people not caught on to this idea?
