May....according to my phone

Cary napping with Sammy

While I was in Alabama I got this picture from Kate with the message, "Come home".

One day while putting sheets on Braeden's bed I found this baby snake in his room. Yes!...In. His. Room. I was a tad bit freaked out. I was home by myself. So, with a big, long shovel I disposed of it all by myself. UGH!

Kate fell asleep on my shoulder at stake conference

Sammy some how got himself tangled up in a pair of Joshua's undies.

My sister, Tara and I have started sending ugly selfies to each other...usually after a run.

And sometimes just for the fun of it.

Braeden in a horse head

and some other silly hat.

We found this awesome macrame chair at a volleyball tournament we went to.

Braeden and I ran a 10k last Saturday. This was before the race.

And this was after. I finished in just under 64 minutes. Braeden ran it in like 40 something...

Braeden ran with his best friend, Braxton.

Braxton got first in their age group and Braeden got third.

Sammy is 2

Happy Birthday to our pup, Sam. I don't particularly like dogs but I love this one for some reason. He truly has become a part of our family and it doesn't hurt that he is so darn cute!

blogging slump

I have been in a blogging slump but I am back and very behind in my blogging. I will be playing catch up over the next couple of days.  First up Easter weekend.

My sister, Becka and her family came for a visit Easter weekend. We went to a Rangers baseball game.  I LOVE my TX Rangers and they did not let us down. They creamed the Chicago White Sox. It was a very good night.

Saturday day morning we got up bright and early and I ran my half marathon and Becka ran a 5k. Pictures will come later. This deserves a post all on it's own. :)

We also threw way to many Easter eggs in the back yard and called it an Easter Egg hunt.  The eggs were pretty much in plain sight but the kids didn't care.  Who would when you get something like 81 eggs each.

Sunday we woke up and had a yummy breakfast and said our goodbyes. I so wish I had some family that lived close by.  It stinks that they are all in Missouri. I keep trying to convince that TX is the place to be.

After goodbyes I let the kids have their Easter baskets and we headed off to church.

This pupper is just too cute to not post. We love him!

sammy phone home

Kate took this picture of Sammy. It reminds me of that scene in ET where ET is hiding amongst all the stuffed animals. So cute!

unofficial snow day

It started snowing this morning around 6:45am. School is still in session and I had every intention of sending the kids to school. In fact, Kate and Braeden are both at school. But when I pulled out of the drive way to take Braeden and Josh to school we started slipping and sliding. After I dropped Braeden off I turned around and brought Joshua home. I am a wimp. I will be the first to admit that this Texan is horrible at driving in any type of winter weather. I figure better safe than sorry. Besides it isn't very often that it's just Josh and I at home alone together. Love it!

baby, it's cold outside

The Polar Vortex is back and has made it's way down to Texas. Sam stayed by the fire all day yesterday in his cute little sweater.

Today I froze my rear off volunteering at Braeden's soccer tournament. 3 pair of gloves, 2 shirts, 1 sweatshirt, 2 pair of pants, 2 pair of socks, 2 coats, a scarf, earmuffs, a hat, a blanket, and hot chocolate....and I was still cold.

thanksgiving, a birthday, ice-mageddon, and some other stuff

Today is the perfect day to get caught up on my blogging. We are on day 4 of ice-mageddon and are loving it. It has been a nice early Christmas gift to be at home with the family.  This is what has gone on in the Jones household the last couple of weeks:

We went to Missouri for Thanksgiving. We all ran a turkey trot Thanksgiving morning. It was soooo cold. We still had fun. I finished in 30:55. I think that is my best time yet.

Braeden was so sweet. After he finished his race he came back for me and pushed me to run harder and faster. After I finished we both went back for my sister, Tara and finished with her.

Because I am lame or lazy or maybe both I didn't take many more pictures from our time in MO.  We did put together several puzzles, the kids played on the trampoline a lot, and we ate a fried turkey....it was so delicious!

This kid had a birthday on the 2nd. He is officially a teenager. 13....I can't believe it.  He has shot up this last year and is almost as tall as me. I give him few more months and I am sure I will be looking up at him. So handsome!

I love this picture. Two reasons: 1 becasue Joshua is always making some kind of funny face and 2 because of the One Direction gift bag in the background. Braeden thought he would be funny and wrap his gift in one of Kate's old gift bags.  Makes me smile. :)

No cake for this kids. He wanted a Sundae with every topping imaginable. Vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate, caramel, M&M's, crushed Oreo's, toffee bits, chocolate chips, gummy bears and worms, and whipped cream. YUM!

Sammy is just too cute. We love him!

The Young Women in my ward put together a food drive for one of their Wednesday night activities. Our ward was so generous. We collected so much food and other items. It was a huge success and the girls had so much fun while serving those in our community that are in need.

The ice started Thursday afternoon at about 2 pm and did not stop until Friday some time.  Everything is covered in 3 to 4 inches of ice. It has been so cold!  It is starting to thaw today so I am thinking the kids will be back in school tomorrow. Although I wouldn't mind one more day. :)

One more random....I don't usually like to share these kind of things. I like to keep them to myself but this morning as I got in the shower and it began to steam up this is what I saw. Best husband ever...its the little things like this that I love!
