Fine Art

I am not much of an art person, but I can appreciate fine art when I see it. These two works of art below are some of my favorites.

The first one is a self portrait of a renowned artist that goes by the name of Joshua. I love the color scheme and the whimsical way in which he drew himself.

This second piece of art is by a fairly new artist, Kate. The love she has for animals definitely comes through in this fine piece she has created. I am not the only one who loves this artist's work. This drawing was recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Reflections contest held at her school.

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done this year.

The Catch:

You must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who comment on your post and agree to do the same!
So get ready for your mystery treat but be prepared to share the love!

Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you get when you get it.

The Next Mia Hamm

Kaitlyn had her very first soccer game yesterday. She is playing for the TC Hounds. She was so excited. On the way to the soccer fields she could not stop talking about the game. She had so many questions and ideas of what the game might be like. The Hounds were up against the Pixies and she wondered what color the other team might be. Her guess was purple and she was right. She kept saying I wonder if we are going to beat them. Her thought was that Pixies are tiny and Hounds are big dogs so of course, her team would beat them. Then Joshua reminded her that Pixies have magic.
Cary and I were "coaching" her on some of the things that she needed to do during the game. We were reminding her of where she needed to line up on kick off and which way her goal was. We were telling her that she needed to go to the ball and try to get it from the the other team. She said to me, "Now, we are friends with the other team, right? We aren't fighting are we? We are just having fun." I think she was concerned with hurting the other teams feelings. She is such a girl in that way and so completely opposite of my boys who are all about knocking someone down and winning. She did a great job though and I am so proud of her.

Warming up

And there off....

Trying to stay warm

Listening intently to the coaches during half time
Move out of my way girls.....

Are You Serious?

When I was a teenager I wanted to look like Cindy Crawford. Now that I am older and wiser and more comfortable with myself I like looking like me. The problem is I get told I look like a brunette Jessica Simpson more often then I would like. The first time someone told me this I was in the hospital and had just given birth to Joshua. The nurse that was taking care of me after I had him told me that I looked like her. She was kind of creepy so I chalked it up to that. But, since then I have been told several times over the last 8 years by family, friends, and complete strangers that I look like her. My response is "Are you serious?". I don't know whether I should be flattered or feel insulted. I see absolutely no resemblance whatsoever. The ONLY similarity that we may have is that we both have dimples in our chin...mine only slight though. So, Who have you been told you look like?

I Look GOOD for Being 51!!!

The Young Women that I am over at church tease me all the time about being old. So the running joke is that I am the "oldest" leader so I must be in my 50's.....all I have to say is that I look darn good for being 51. Not a wrinkle or gray hair to be found.....ok...a few wrinkles and maybe one or two gray hairs, but I still look good for being 51. :)
Darci was so sweet to make me a birthday cake. Not only did she make my favorite lemon cake with lemon frosting but she even topped it off with skittles and birthday candles.

If you look closely at the cake you will see the candles are a five and a one. I tried to get them to reverse the numbers to 15 but I had no luck.

There Were 3 in the Bed and the Little One Said....

I went to wake up the kids this morning and this is what I found.....

All 3 were asleep in Kate's bed. When I tucked them in last night they were all in their own beds. I guess they do really love each other....

Really Good Surprise!

Cary called me this morning and asked me if I wanted to go to lunch with him. I of course said yes. This wasn't the surprise. He asked me to meet him at Razoo's. I love this place! Spicey, Cajun food....YUM! This still wasn't the surprise. I get to Razoo's and I am waiting for him, and waiting for him, and waiting for him. He never shows.....but my two bestest friends since the fifth grade that live 3 hours away in Oklahoma City showed up and completely surprised me!! I had no idea!!!! They came just to have lunch with me for my birthday. This was a GREAT surprise!!!! I love them soooo much!! Thank you Tori and Amy!! I love you!!
