backfired

Last night Joshua was taking entirely to long in the shower so I threatened him with a glass of ice cold water poured over the top of his head if he didn't hurry up...well, that completely backfired. This is how the conversation went after he had been in the shower way longer then he needed to be:

me: Joshua, you are taking way to long..hurry up
few minutes later
me: Josh, I said hurry up..you should be done by now
few minutes later
me: Josh, if you don't hurry up I am going to pour a big glass of cold water over your head
Josh: OK! do it...do it!
me: Josh! It is not suppose to work that way...you are suppose to hurry up and want to get out so that I won't pour a glass of cold water on your head.
Josh: Please, Mom! Please pour a glass of cold water on my head and then I promise I will get out....

What is wrong with this kid???

*another quick story about Josh....Again, last night we were reading scriptures together as a family. It was Joshua's turn to read. He started reading in 1 Nephi Ch 17 v. 12..it says, "For the Lord had not hitherto suffered that we should make much fire....". Joshua read it as, "For the Lord had not hit-her-to...". Ha ha ha!

This kid continues to crack me up on a daily basis...oh, how I love him!!

still updating

Ever wonder what 32 pair of shoes sitting at your front door would look like?

Braeden invited that many kids over right before Christmas for fun, games, and food. It was lots of fun and...... boy, can those kids eat!

Double Digits

During my blogging hiatus, Joshua had a birthday. Number 10 to be exact. Joshua really dislikes his December birthday. I don't like it either. For one thing the month is super busy and it is hard to find the time for a party. For him, he doesn't like the fact that he gets everything he wants for his birthday and then has a hard time coming up with a Christmas list. With as busy as December was we managed to squeeze in a party and I really mean squeeze in.

The night we set for Joshua's birthday was the same night of our church Christmas party. Ordinarily we might skip it becaue of his birthday, but Cary was a Narrator in the program so we had no choice. This picture cracks me up because I promised Joshua he could open one gift before we left for the church party....he already has his Shepard costume on. I think he probably is the first lego rockband playing Shepard.
After the church party, Joshua and his best bud Andrew were treated to a night at Dave and Busters. Lots of fun was had...

After the trip to Dave and Busters we still had presents to open...the best part of the party according to Joshua.

Then after a long night of building legos, playing video games, and watching movies...Joshua and Andrew rocked the house with some Lego rockband.
Even after all the gifts, Joshua was still able to come up with a Christmas list...those pictures to come soon.

workin' hard

or hardly workin'.....my kids wouldn't call what they are doing in these few pictures working. One of the things they absolutely love about going to Missouri is my parents yard. They could spend hours upon hours outside picking up rocks, raking leaves, or chopping wood...mixed in with some exploring and trampoline time. Then they always love to end the night with a fire pit, smore makin' session. Oh the fun they always have at Grandma's house.

it's not my fault and some really ugly sweater

It's only been 64 days since my last entry, but really it's not my fault. I have many excuses as to why my posts have been non-existent. The main one being that our computer was completely screwed up, but it is working again so I guess I can't use that as an excuse anymore. A lot has happened in 64 days so I have a lot of catching up to do, but I can't and won't do it all in one post. Over the next few days or maybe even weeks I hope to get all caught up. We will see though....

While in Missouri over Thanksgiving we took some ugly sweater pictures. I think I won the ugliest sweater contest. These pictures with my sisters turned out super fun!
