He's Soooooo Cute......

My daughter has a crush or two. We were sitting and watching the Take Home Chef yesterday and she said to me, "He is soooo cute." Then she said, "Do you know who else is cute?" I asked her who, and she said "the boy from High School Musical." It was so funny. She has never really said anything like this before. Is this normal for a 4 year old? Is this a sign of things to come? Should I be worrried? Hopefully this is just another phase. I'm scared!!

We learned last night that our beloved prophet Pres. Hinckley died. I am very sad today. I loved him so very much. I loved hearing him speak. He had such a great presence. I always knew that what he was saying was true. I never doubted it. I always felt an overwhelming presence of the Spirit when he spoke. He was such a great example of Christ. I never met him or never even had the opportunity to be in the same room with him, but I felt the loved that he had for us. I will miss him greatly.

Cinnamon Streusel Orange Muffins

I was craving muffins this morning and found this recipe on allrecipes.com. They are delicious......very moist with a hint of orange flavor. YUM!!

2 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/3 c. veg. oil
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. buttermilk (I used regular milk)
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs

3 T. brown sugar
1 1/2 t. cinnamon

1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 t. cinnamon
2 T. butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 cup muffin tin. Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center of dry ingredients. Pour veg. oil, orange juice, milk, vanilla, and eggs into well. Slightly beat. Mix dry and wet ingredients together. It may be slightly lumpy. Fill muffin tins half way. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over muffin batter. Spoon remaining muffin batter over brown sugar mixture. Mix together remaining flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter to make a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle this evenly over tops of muffin batter. Bake for 20 minutes.

Back to Normalcy

The boys went back to school today and Cary went back to work .......so the holidays are officially over. I really could have used a few more days to recover from all the traveling that we did. We were in Austin the weekend before Christmas and then right after Christmas we were in Missouri for a week. I did a really horrible thing and accidentally erased all the pictures I took while in Missouri. I couldn't believe I actually did that. I almost cried. So just imagine lots of cute pictures with cousins and grandparents here. We had really good visits with both sides of our families. It was really nice to be able to go to Missouri and visit with my family especially my dad before he leaves to go to Kuwait for a year. We are really nervous about this, but we know that my Dad has prayed about it and feels it is the right thing to do. We will definitely miss him and will be counting down the days until he comes home in July for a 2 week visit.
We love the holidays but at the same time are glad to get things back to normal. The boys were excited to go back to school and I think Kate was ready to have me all to herself again. I got strep for the second time in 3 months while in Missouri, so I am just glad to be home and not be sick anymore. Yeah for Normalcy!!
