she loves them...i hate them

Kate loves toads. I hate them. Just ask her how I reacted when this ugly guy jumped out of her fingers. Not a pretty picture.

last day

Hallelujah....it's the last day of school!!! Let the relaxation begin. 80 days of freedom! :)

I don't know who is happier about school being out. Kate or Sammy?

This kid doesn't look happy does he?

Braeden has actually been done with school for about a week now but we couldn't leave him out.

Kate's 4th grade award assembly

Kate was awarded A/B honor roll for the whole year, perfect attendance for the 2nd semester, and good citizenship.

She also got a music award.

And the coveted star student award. So proud of her!

She was also chosen to read a letter she wrote to her teacher Mrs. Sutphin, who is retiring after 37 years of teaching.

Not only was Kate lucky enough to have Mrs. Sutphin this year, but Joshua had her in 4th grade as well.  She has been a fantastic teacher. We love her and she will definitely be missed.

tortilleria

Braeden was craving some homemade tortillas the other day. He wanted me to make him some...I said no. So, he made some himself.

kate

Kate picked some wild flowers for me the other day. This is the only one that survived in the bunch.

A few days later she brought me these little critters.

I always thought I wanted a super girly girl that would like bows in her hair and frilly dresses and never want to get dirty. This is NOT Kate. She is the perfect amount of girl but can totally keep up with the boys. She can dig in the dirt with the best of them, doesn't mind getting dirty, and loves collecting bugs. But she also loves to have her toe nails painted, wear perfume and lip gloss, and pick flowers. She makes me so happy. :)

special day

I love these two girls so much! I have known them both since they were 11 and 12. I was Darci's activity day leader when she was 11. When she moved up to Young Women's I followed her shortly there after. I served in Young Women's with both Darci and Briana almost up until the time they graduated. They have both decided to serve missions. I was lucky enough to go through the temple with them on Saturday. Such a special day. Briana reported to the MTC today. She is going to Alaska. Darci will be leaving in August and serving in Brazil. I am so happy for the both of them. :)
