Braeden ran this morning in a cross country meet in McKinney. It was hot!!! He ran a 5k just under 23 minutes. He thinks he didn't do well. I think he did great. Go LOBOS!

Partyin' with One Direction

Kate had a a birthday last week. She is officially 10 now. To celebrate she wanted to take some friends and spend the day with One Direction. So, we headed out to the theater to see One Direction: This is Us. These girls made me laugh. They were so cute and sooooo excited. I thought they might die of anticipation....we couldn't get to the theater fast enough. But we first had some birthday business to take care of...

This is my favorite picture of the day. These girls had me laughing. They were so excited...for a minute they actually thought One Direction might show up.

It's always a good thing when it's declared the best birthday ever. It was a good day. :)

Kate's hoodie

Yesterday Kate decided to take a hoodie to school because it gets super cold in each of her classes. When she got home yesterday we had this little conversation:

Kate: This jacket is like a cloud.
me: What?......What do you mean?
Kate: It's so soft and comfortable.

I guess in Kate's head a cloud would be super soft and comfortable. I think she might be right. Cute girl.

meet the lobos

Meet the Lobos is kind of like a big pep rally to kick off the school year. All of the athletes, cheerleaders, band, and other extracurricular stuff are introduced to the community.

This was Braeden's first "thing" as a Lobo.

fourth day of school

Yep, it's the 4th day of school today and Kate stayed home sick. She came home yesterday with the "throw-ups". She is feeling much better today so to keep herself busy she got a little creative with some fancy tape.

We went to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner one night. We were pleasantly surprised by how yummy the food tasted.

It rained a couple days while we were in Florida. The kids did not let it dampen our vacation. Josh and Kate went frog hunting right out in front of our condo.

And Braeden didn't let a down pour stop him from bike riding.  He was just doin' what the locals do. :)

By the end of the week we were exhausted but ready to buy a beach house and move to Seaside, Florida to become beach bums. :)

Vicksburg, Mississippi

On our way home from the beach we stopped in Vicksburg, Mississippi to see Vicksburg National Military Park.  I remember going through this park with my parents when I was a little girls. It was neat to take my own kids and show them a little bit of history.
