Braeden: I can barely constrain myself from using 900 words.

first official camp out

This past weekend Joshua went on his first official camp out with the Young Men. He was a little unsure because Dad wasn't going to be able to go. I was worried because he seems so tiny to me still and they were hiking into camp with heavy, ginormous backpacks on their backs, and because it was so suppose to be so cold, and did he have enough food or water, and were his feet going to be blistered because he was wearing new hiking boots....the list goes on. (I am a Mom) But, Braeden said he did great. Joshua hiked without any problems and had tons of fun.

Braeden and Joshua both had there own single-man tents.  These tents are super small and are really only made for one person, with not much room for anything else.  They decided that night that it was too cold so they both slept in the same tiny tent.  They stayed warm all night long....a memory that they will have forever. Love these boys!

it's NOT a snow day

Here in Texas we automatically assume that if there is any snow, in any amount that school will be canceled or at least delayed. Not today. I sent my little ones off to school in the freezing temps...we are such wimps.

The kids will be jealous when they learn that Sammy got to play in the snow and they didn't.... because it's pretty much all melted now.

another dance

My camera is broke due to some unnamed children so the phone will have to do for now...or until my birthday. (hint...for the hubs) Anyway, that's not the reason for this post.

Braeden went to another dance on Saturday night. It was 80's themed. This is about as 80's as he would get. I bought him a Goonies t-shirt and fixed his hair in a faux-hawk. I thought he looked super cute, but I am bias. :)

New Year's Eve

Braeden went to a dance to ring in the New Year and then off to IHOP for breakfast. He wasn't home until 2:30am...which means I didn't make it in to bed until 3:00am.

This is Braeden's, "mom, are you seriously going to take pictures of me?" face...

As for the rest of us..we had a quiet evening at home. We grilled fajitas, made salsa and watched this movie...

It was so good. Love that Timothy Green.

I walked into the living room one morning and found Braeden completely bundled up head to toe...coat, scarf, hat, heavy blanket and all. I think he's exaggerating a bit.

And can we talk about the PS3 controller in hand along with a computer on his lap. Too much technology, maybe?

Airsoft Wars

Braeden and Joshua had some friends over right before Christmas for an Airsoft War. They are such nerds but they have so much fun. They take this stuff pretty seriously. They divide into teams and even make up rules. They go into the "forest" behind our house and set up camp. They would be down there for hours and hours if I would let them.

It has rained ALL day and I have done nothing with the exception of doing one load of laundry and vacuuming the carpet. ..oh, and showering. I'm back in my pajamas sitting on the couch. It. Has. Been. Glorious.

We usually have some kind of booby-trap or something for the kids every year but this year Santa took a break or maybe it was because the kids forgot to leave out some cookies.

I love going home to my Mom and Dad's house at Christmas time. It is full of the sights and sounds that come with this holiday season.

On the way to Missouri we spend a large majority of our traveling time in Oklahoma. Probably about 4 1/2 of the 6 hours. Anyway, on our most recent trip Joshua asked,
