Broken Bow, OK

We spent the weekend here....

We did some hiking...

and some paddle boating...

Spent our nights by the fire roasting marshmallows, whittling, and telling stories....

We took lots of silly pictures...

We enjoyed good friends...

and topped it all off by celebrating Braeden's birthday again....

Yep, it's been another year and this kid is 15 now. I remember when he was just a baby and I would bounce him up and down on my knees to get him to fall asleep and then I would have to very quietly move him to his bed where I would continue to pat him on his back to make sure he stayed asleep.  Now, he can fall asleep whenever and wherever and stays asleep forever.

Last Friday night he had a few of his friends over to help celebrate his 15 years.....

The party still isn't over.  He is going to Austin next weekend with Cary to go shooting at some gun range and then off to the Saltlick for some very tasty BBQ.

Kate started volleyball. Two games under her belt so far and both were wins. :)

Braeden's soccer team finished with a winning season. They won 14 games, lost 4, and tied 2.

Girls Weekend

This past weekend I took a short trip up to Oklahoma City to meet my mom and sisters for a girls weekend. We had so much fun, but it was entirely to short.

We took a stroll down memory by going by our old house at Timothy Lane...

Sunday morning after a terrible nights sleep (story to come later) we walked around the OKC memorial.  It is both so solemn and peaceful there.

This conversation happened yesterday on the way to school:

Joshua: You are officially 37.
Me: How do I look? (as I give him a big cheesy grin)
Joshua: You look better than most 73.....I mean 37 year old's.

this is what I did for my birthday

This might have been the best girls night out ever. A few of my favorite ladies were kind enough to share in my birthday wish to go rock climbing. I had never been but had always wanted to try. It was so hard but so much fun!

drive-in movie?

Braeden had a soccer game on Tuesday night and it was pouring down rain. I thought the game would be canceled. But no lightening or thunder equals play the game. I opted to stay dry and watch the game from the car. Kate and Josh decided to turn the car in to a drive-in movie theater. They had their snacks, headphones, comfy leather seats, and Night at the Museum. They were set for the next hour and a half.

This is the field that Braeden played on. Just a little bit dangerous being right next to the tollway during rush hour. During the game one of the soccer players even kicked a ball up over the fence in to the on coming traffic. If you ask me I think it's an accident waiting to happen....

In other news, Kate got a 100 on her fractions math test this week. I am so proud of her!

And my birthday is in 4 days....still hoping for a new camera. :)
