LE Fall Classic

This past weekend we spent A LOT of time at the baseball fields. Joshua's team entered a tournament that started Friday night and depending how they did would go into Saturday. They lost Friday night, but won every other game they played on Saturday and ended up coming in 2nd place.

Waiting for his turn in the dugout

Coach Troy and Joshua

The whole White Sox team and their 2nd place trophies

The White Sox and the Clemson Tigers...the only team that beat them

Last night and the night before...

Halloween is over but the pictures are still coming....

Of course every Halloween we have to carve pumpkins. We have learned after being in Texas for a really long time now, that it isn't smart to carve pumpkins to early in the month because they rot. So, just two nights ago we did our carving. Braeden missed out because he was on a camp out with the Scouts, but this is what Kate and Joshua came up with.

And this is how we displayed them.
Moving forward to last night....the big night of All Hallows Eve.....

The traditional group shot before we set out to Trick-or-Treat. A pretty eclectic group with a skeleton, a cowgirl, a gypsy, Pedro, 2 army men, and a corpse bride.
Can you see us?

Along the way we ran in to Kate's friend, Olivia and her sister Ava.

One of the many treats...a green gooey eyeball
The two army bros
One last group shot to make mom happy...I really just loved the pumpkins with the Mr. Potato head like features. So cute!!

As my kids always declare it was the best Halloween ever!!!

P.S. Happy Birthday to my baby sister, Ashley who turns 21 today!! We love you!!!

Trunk-or-Treat

Trunk-or-Treat 2010 was a success.......minus the fact that Joshua was sick and had to stay home. But not to worry, Dad took real good care of him and there were even new legos involved. So, while Josh was upset at the fact he missed out, he was also very happy about his new lego motorcycles.....and his brother brought him home a pretty good sized bag of candy.

As for the other two munchkins, this is how it all went down......Braeden being Braeden stuffing his face with way to much candy.

The candy trade....

Dude, look what I got!

Kate was oh so cute in her cowgirl get-up. She couldn't resist pretending she had a rope up in the air......getting ready to lasso something.

The Freestone brothers on the hayride as the old man and the Last Airbender. Best costumes of the night!!

Alexa, Adria, and Kate having some good old fun!

Now that we got our practicing done...we are ready for the real deal Sunday night! Happy Halloween Ya'll!!!

Playing in the Rain

Saturday we had some major rain storms come through. Braeden and Joshua just couldn't resist the chance to play in the rain. Kate wanted no part in it because it was to cold.

I am making myself do this...

I haven't been into blogging lately, but we took a spur of the moment - get away from everything for a weekend - trip....so I thought I better document it.

Friday afternoon we headed down south to take the kiddos to Sea World. They didn't know...it was a total surprise. We loaded them up in the car with bags in hand not knowing where they were going. We played a little game of 20 questions to figure out our destination. It was fun! Once they found out they were super excited, especially Kate.

One of my favorite moments...feeding the dolphins. They are so cute and smart and they always look like they have permanent smiles on their faces. I am adding swim with dolphins to my "bucket list". :)

Next up, petting a baby alligator. He was super soft. I can see how he would make a nice pair of shoes or hand bag, but of course I would never do such a thing.

Loved the roller coaster!! Joshua and Braeden rode twice. We couldn't get Kate to get on it. It was a good one!

There were Halloween scenes all over Sea World. Pumpkins, scarecrows, skeletons, and more...

This kid continues to crack me up everyday. There is never a dull moment when Joshua is around.

This is as close as we got to the water log ride. We didn't want to get wet.....yeah, we're wimps.

Going along with the Halloween theme...headless penguins. Who knew? :)

This was the kids favorite show. The sea lions and walrus were very funny.

But I love Shamu!! We saw him twice. Once during the day with the "Believe" show and then in the evening for a special Halloween edition.
It was an exhausting day, but a very nice get away from our busy, hectic lives to just be together and to have some fun.

Football, and Soccer, and Baseball....oh my!

We are still here, just busy, busy ,busy! Mostly with kids and their extra curricular activities. Our schedule goes something like this:

Monday: football game 5:30pm, baseball game 7:00pm..maybe?
Tuesday: Pick up Braeden from football practice at 5pm, drop him at piano at 5:30pm, soccer practice at 6pm, baseball practice at 6:30pm
Wednesday: Pick up Braeden from football practice at 5pm, Den Meeting at 6:00pm, Mutual at 7pm
Thursday: Pick up Braeden form football practice at 5pm, soccer practice...maybe?, baseball practice at 7pm
Friday...breath
Saturday: GAMES for soccer and baseball
Sunday: church and absolutely NOTHING else.... :)

Kate is loving soccer and the color of her new uniform. Her new team is the Lightening Bugs. She is getting better each game, but loves to watch her feet when she runs so sometimes it puts her in the wrong spot. She is very aggressive at home when playing soccer with her brothers but holds back some in the games because she doesn't want to hurt anyone.

Braeden is playing quarterback for the 7th grade blue team. He LOVES it and I LOVE watching him. He scored the only touchdown and extra point in his first game for the win. Second game they tied and he scored the tying touchdown. Third game they won 34 to 0 and he scored one touchdown and one extra point. More pictures to come soon!!

This is Joshua's first year playing baseball. He loves that there isn't as much running like in soccer. His team, the White Sox, are playing really well. Their record right now is 3 and 1. Go White Sox!!

Two Track Mind

Yesterday afternoon as I was taxing my children around to their many after school activities, Hey Soul Sister by Train came on the radio. My kids LOVE this song. Joshua was singing along like he always does when it came to the part where it says,

Just in time
I'm so glad you have
A one track mind like me....

At this point he stopped singing and we had a conversation that went something like this..."Mom, what is a one track mind?" I told him that it's when you are kind of obsessed with one thing and you can't stop thinking about it and it distracts you from everything else. He then said to me, "I have a two track mind. I can think of two things at the same time."
Not sure he grasped the concept...either that or he is super talented. :)
