I Love Valentines Day!

Our Valentines Day was full of Sweet Treats and Parties..............
Cary surprised us with our favorite Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the morning. My favorite are the lemon filled and the glazed. The kids always go for the chocolate and the sprinkles. They were so delicious with a tall glass of ice cold milk.
Kate and I had two parties to go to. We started at Joshua's class party. His teacher had a great idea for all those Valentine cards that usually get thrown out as soon the kids get home. She made a book with all the kids names and had them paste their Valentines in the book as a keep sake. It is really cute!

Then Kate and I were off to Braeden's party. I didn't get many pictures. I couldn't get them to sit still long enough to snap pictures. I think at this age they are kind of over passing Valentines out. They just want the candy.

When we got home my good friend Julie brought us some very yummy goodies.

Cary usually brings me flowers every year............which I love, but this year he decided to do something a little different. He brought me a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries and some heart shaped pineapple that had also been dipped in chocolate. They were so delicious!

I hope everyone had a fun filled Valentines Day and feels as loved as I do!!

Battery Power

Braeden had to do a science project for three science grades. If it would have been an option we wouldn't have done it.....to much work! He decided to test batteries. He chose Duracell, Energizer, and Rayovac. He used 3 identical flashlights and checked them every 30 minutes. Two flashlights went out at the same time so he had to retest. He checked them every 15 minutes until they started dimming and them every 5 after that. He found that the Rayovac battery was the stinkiest. Energizer and Duracell lasted a long time but Duracell came out on top. I guess the Energizer bunny doesn't keep going and going and going.

IT'S SNOWING!!!!!

I took Kate to speech today at 2:30 p.m. and it was raining pretty hard. By the time we got out it was snowing. It's so much fun to see all the kids getting so excited about the snow. I don't know if we will get pictures out of this snow fall, but if we do I will post soon.

And the Winner is.................

The cub scouts had their annual Pinewood Derby race last night and Braeden came in first place. It was very exciting for him. He did some research on the internet and found the design for his car. He chose it because it looked really cool. He and Cary worked on the car over the weekend and there hard work payed off. Congratulations Braeden!!

School Awards

We had an awards assembly last week at school. Joshua got the star student award. Two kids from each class for each of the nine weeks in the semester are awarded the star student award. Braeden received perfect attendance for the semester and he was the only kid in his class to get "A" honor roll. GOOD JOB GUYS!!!

SNOW DAY!!!

Ok......so the weather men here in North Texas DO NOT know how to predict weather. Last night Cary and I were watching the news and the weather guy....(Ron Jackson to be exact from Fox 4 news) said it would be cold but mostly dry with a very, very slight possiblilty of snow flurries to the south but probably nothing to the North of the metroplex. Well, we woke up this morning with school being canceled and a white front yard. I have to say it was a very nice surprise and the kids were very excited. Snow does not happen very often here so when it does everything pretty much shuts down......IT'S "SNOW" MUCH FUN!!!

Christmas Night

After Christmas morning at our house we packed up and headed off to Missouri to be with my family. It was a lot of fun. The kids had a great time with all their cousins. They loved all the gifts and were spoiled by grandma once again.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was an adventure. Braeden was the first to get up and then of course Joshua was not far behind...........at 4:30. Santa Claus was very smart though and wrapped up the hallway with wrapping paper so that the kids could not get out to see what he had left behind. He left a note that said do not wake your parents until 6:30. Sadly, a few minutes later we were up anyway because Braeden was getting sick in the bathroom. His stomach started hurting really bad and he had stuff coming out both ends. It was not FUN!! I was so worried the rest of the day was going to be miserable. He sat in the bathroom for a while and then we went back to bed. The kids woke up again at about 6:00 but of course the note said do not wake your parents until 6:30 and I was way to tired after getting up and dealing with Braeden. So they want back to bed and slept until 7:30 when we all finally got up. Braeden seemed to be better ( we think his "illness" was from all the excitement) and the rest of the day was wonder full!!

Christmas with the Jones'

We went to Austin this past weekend and celebrated Christmas a little early. It was a quick trip but we really enjoyed seeing all of our family. The kids had a great time playing with all their cousins. Here are a few pics. of the trip. Enjoy!!
Kate and Jenna playing dress up.

Nana and Grandpa and most of the grandkids.

Cary and all his siblings pitched in to get their parents a new computer. Their reaction was hilarious.

Joshua's Birthday

Joshua's birthday was Saturday, but we started celebrating Friday night with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Then first thing Sarturday morning we opened presents. Cary set up a scavenger hunt to find his gift from us. He had lots of fun doing that. Then we were off to Walmart to spend his birthday money and see a special display of Legos. (Joshua's new obsession) Then we topped off his birthday that night with a cake in the shape of a lego. (I made the cake and it was horrid. It resembled a lego but it was really pitiful looking.) Joshua had a great day and can't wait till next year.
