My Favorite CD

This is my new favorite CD. It is called Daughter of a King. It has actually been out for a while but I just borrowed it from my friend. It is the music that goes along with the Young Womens Mutual theme for 2007......which is "Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God" (D&C 121:45). It is so uplifting. I love it!!!

Family Fun

After a long day of running errands on Saturday we decided to go on an impromptu picnic. We ran home got a blanket, paper plates, napkins, cups, bread and some fishing gear. We then made a quick stop at Little Ceasers to pick up some pizza and rootbeer and then headed off to a near by park. We ate yummy pizza, fed ducks and turtles, did a little fishing, and mostly realxed. We had a really enjoyable evening. The weather was perfect and the kids had a great time.

Done

I finally finished reading my Harry Potter book last night. I stayed up until about 2 last night to finish. I just couldn't put it down. It was so good! I am sad to see it end, but I guess all good things must come to an end at some point. I won't give away the ending for all of you still reading, but I thought the ending was exactly as it should be. It was a perfect ending. I know, I'm a nerd......but long live Harry Potter!!

Pictures from Grandpa and Grandma's House

We are now home from Grandma and Grandpa Martins house. We had lots of fun. The kids love being in Missouri with their cousins and they also get very spoiled by their Grandma. Here are some pictures from our visit.

Joshua and Kate's cousin Heather slept over one night. They swam, jumped on the trampoline, played, and watched movies until they were worn out.

Kate and Grandpa's dog Belle.

My sister Becka has a movie projector so we set it up outside on my parents deck and watched several movies. It was lots of fun. The kids loved it. We watched Bridge to Terabithia, Pirates 2, and Night at the Museum. All good movies!!

Kate and cousin Sophia getting ready to watch a movie on the deck.

Me with my sisters, Tara and Becka being silly. (They will probably kill me for posting these, but I think they are cute)

Kate's hiding place underneath the deck.

This is the cat that kept coming around Grandma's house. He would not leave. Kate wanted him so bad. She followed it everywhere it went. It was so skinny so we gave in and fed it one day and decided to name it Sam. After a few days of Sam hanging around Grandpa and Braeden went out looking for who it belonged to. They found the owners and they were very happy to have their cat back. They had just gotten it a few days before. His real name is Leo.

Kate and her cousin Owen with their Great Uncle Glen.

Kate just thinking......

Fun in the Sun!

We love our new community pool. There is a sprinkler park, a big pool, and a kiddie pool. We have spent a lot of time there (when its not raining). We pack a cooler and some snacks and spend the day relaxing in the cool water. Their hair has become naturally highlighted by the sun and their bodies are turning a nice golden brown.

Creepy Critters

We love our new back yard, but we have found that we have all kinds of creepy things lurking around. I guess since we have a huge field behind us and the lake isn't very far that it is to be expected. WE had our first snake about 4 or 5 days after we moved in. The kids thought it was great. I on the other hand was scared. It moved into a wood pile that was left by the previous owners and stayed there until Cary got home and could catch it. We think it was a rat snake but we aren't sure. We have had rabbits, and tiny little toads, spiders of all kinds, and tons of mosquito's. Kaitlyn loves the frogs. She would stay outside all day if I allowed her to, but it gets to hot and the mosquito's love her. I heard that moth balls will keep the snakes away (I haven't tried it yet) and calling the bug man is on our list of things to do. Until then Braeden, Joshua, and Kate will continue to pretend they are in the Amazon hunting for creepy crawling things. Yuck!

From Wolf to Bear

Braeden received his wolf badge at his last den meeting. He is now a Bear. I don't quite understand exactly how cub scouts or boy scouts works yet, but we are learning as we go. Braeden loves it and is looking forward to day camp in two weeks.

Finally!!

Joshua has waited what seems like forever to lose a tooth. He has had four loose teeth for some time now but they just would not fall out. He was so determined to get one of them out this week. He worked, and wiggled, and pulled for several days until one of his bottom front teeth fell out. He was so excited! He put it in a ziplock bag and carried it around with him all day. He was very anxious to see what the tooth fairy would bring him. He was not disappointed. He woke up to two dollars under his pillow. Now he can't wait for the others to fall out.

Home Sweet Home

This is our new house. We have been here for a week and a half now and we absolutely love it!! One of our favorite parts is the backyard. Our house backs up to corp of engineer property and the lake. We have had a lot of rain so as of now we have a "lake view". Hopefully it will continue to rain like it has. If it doesn't I am sure the lake will be dried up by August. As for now we are enjoying it. The kids love it to!

I'm Back!

We are finally moved and some what settled in. We had an eventful closing (thanks to our title company) that put us behind on our actual move. Then a storm blew in and delayed us even longer. Thankfully the people buying our house allowed us to stay a little longer to get moved and have the house clean for them. Cary and I did not leave our old house until 4:30 in the morning due to all the delays. I will not be moving for a really, really long time. Thanks to our good friends the Harris's and the Flores's for watching our kids. There is no way we could have gotten everything done without them.
Our internet service just got back up and running last night. I was starting to have withdrawals. I don't know how we ever survived without computers and the internet. We had lots of problems with AT&T, but we are back up and running now..........so stay tuned for lots of pictures!

Packing Up

Moving day is tomorrow. The kids were really helpful in packing up their rooms, especially Kaitlyn. Every time I started packing she was right by my side stuffing newspaper, labeling boxes, and trying to tape things up. It has been a long two months of packing. We are so ready to move on. We are sooooo excited!!!

Just Because

Cary surprised Kate and I with some of our favorite things from Bath and Body Works the other night. We love being surprised! We also love getting gifts for no reason other then because we are his favorite girls and because he loves us. We definitely feel loved!
