A Few Days Later......

I had planned on taking pictures of the kids for our Christmas Card this weekend. I guess that won't be happening.............or maybe some concealer will cover the nice purplish hue left by the fall he took. Ugh!

Ouch!

Joshua was playing on the computer yesterday and was not sitting in the chair properly. He didn't have all four legs of the chair on the ground. I have told him numerous times that he will fall out of the chair and get hurt if he doesn't sit right in the chair. Well, it happened yesterday. The chair slipped and he hit his eye on the desk. It swelled up immedialtey. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

Joshua's Very Happy Birthday

We let our kids have a big birthday party with friends every other year. This was the year for a big party for Josh, but he decided he just wanted a family party. There were only two friends that he wanted to invite anyway and he knew that if mom and dad bought the gifts that he would get what he really wanted. Smart kid! Joshua had a very good birthday!!

Only 26 days...........

The countdown to Christmas has begun at our house. We put the tree up on Sunday and decorated on Monday. The stockings and garland are up and we are anxiously awaiting a visit from good old St. Nick. I love this time of year!!

Braeden's Favorite Past Time

Braeden's favorite thing to do is to play football. It use to be soccer, but I noticed over the last year or so that football has inched it's way in front of soccer. Every free moment he has he wants to be playing football. If he is in the house he is almost never without a football in his hands. (which can be dangerous) He loves to tackle, run, pass, kick, punt...............it doesn't matter he just wants to play the game. He has played soccer since he was 4 and is very good at it but this next year he wants to try football. This make me nervous. I think he is still too little, but I see how much he loves it. I keep trying to convince him to wait until he is in Jr. High at least, but I don't know if that is going to happen. He says that he is going to go to the University of Texas and play football and then he is going into the NFL.........every boys dream. I keep telling him when this happens that he is going to have to take care his father and I.

Thanksgiving Day 2007

Josh and Kate coloring with cousin Sophia

Kate and Grandpa Martin

Grandma and Grandpa Martin

Kate, Josh, Braeden, Sophia, and Aunt Becka

Cary mashing potatoes

We had a really layed back Thanksgiving. My parents and my sister Becka and her family came to our house. We ate and ate and ate. We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, football games, we rented Hairspray, and looked through the black Friday ads. It was a really great day!!

1st Grade Thanksgiving Feast

I haven't been in the blogging mood lately so I am behind on some posts. This was Joshua's Thanksgiving Feast at school. They did a little play and Josh was the turkey. I wish I would of had my video camera. It was so cute. They ate the regular feast items: turkey and ham slices, popcorn, crackers, bugles, pumpkin pie, apples, candy corn, and lots of other stuff. Joshua was most excited about getting to leave school early and come home with me.

We Love our Soldiers!!!

Our primary put together an activity for the kids to make Christmas packages for the soldiers serving in Iraq. It was an awesome activity. Bro. Gaume came in his army fatigues and talked to the kids about what he does and what it was like in Iraq. The kids were able to ask questions and got to see the the kind of food that they eat as soldiers. The kids then wrote letters, made little Christmas trees, signed banners, and put together small stockings. We are sooooo very grateful to all the men and women who are serving our country no matter where they are serving!!!! Thank you for your sacrifice and dedication! We love you!!

I Got Tagged......

My friend Kim tagged me in a game where I am suppose to tell 6 things about myself. I don't like these kind of games, but I don't want to be the one fuddy duddy who doesn't play. So, here I go.....

1. I love to put Parmesan cheese on my popcorn and lots of it....... right out of the microwave while it is still hot. I sprinkle it on and shake the bag so it all gets coated really well. And not the fancy Parmesan cheese, the Kraft Parmesan cheese out of the green can. YUM!!!

2. I love listening to Radio Disney even when my kids are not in the car with me. I guess this is because I still feel like I'm 15. I love bubble gum pop! It reminds me of when I was a teenager and was in love with New Kids on the Block. My husband doesn't quite understand this, but my kids think I am cool. Especially because I know all the words to Hannah Montana, the Jonas Brother, and of course the High School Musical songs. I know, I'm a nerd!

3. OK, so I go from acting like I am 15 to acting like a Grandma.......I love clipping coupons. I find great satisfaction in getting something for almost nothing or even better when it is free. I'm not one of those obsessed coupon clippers but I do check the Krogers and Albertsons ads weekly to see what good deals I can find. Just last week I got 15 cans of Campbells Tomato and Chicken Noodle soups for free. Albertsons had them for 25 cents a can and I had 50 cent coupons that were doubled. Score!!

4.If I could have any job in the world I would want to be the letter turner on Wheel of Fortune. I 'm weird, I know.............but Vanna only works 5 days a week. She gets to dress up in beautiful clothes, gets her hair and makeup done, and she makes a lot of money, and all she has to do is touch a screen. Who wouldn't want a job that easy? Move over Vanna. :)

5. I love to play Webkinz with Kate. She got her first Webkinz in August for her birthday. Back then when she first started I would have to sit with her and show her how to do everything, but now she can do it on her own. But I still love to sit with her and play. We take turns playing games, doing gem hunt, and the employment office. We have built her house up with 3 bedrooms, a game room, a bathroom, a kitchen , and an outdoor area complete with a garden and a swimming pool. What can I say.............I love Webkinz!

6. I get very excited when I watch Braeden play soccer. If you know me, then you would probably never guess this. I tend to be very quiet and more on the shy side. But I get very into Braedens games. I think my husband was very surprised by this, I think I even surprised myself..........but I love watching him play. I have to say I am a very good sport. I don't make negative comments or yell at the ref or the other team. In fact, I cheer for both teams. But I do get very loud when cheering for Braeden and his team. The funny thing is Braden never hears a word of it. I guess he's either to focused on the game or he's just blocking me out because he is embarrassed. Go Rowdies!!

Ok...there it is. Enough boring facts about me. Hopefully I haven't revealed to much that scews your opinion of me.

On another note..............I am still sick. I felt horrible when I woke up this morning. Cary gave me a blessing and I am starting to feel better. My tonsils are still covered in puss and huge (I know to much information) but I think I am on the road to recovery. Yahoo!!

I'M SICK......UGH!

I went to the doctor today. My tonsils feel like they are the size of golf balls. It is very unpleasant to swallow. I got some medicine so hopefully I will fill better soon. I am going back to bed now.

MY CAMERA HAS BEEN FIXED!!!

Friday, November 02, 2007

Tragedy has struck........

I broke my camera!!!! I am so mad at myself. I put it in my purse along with a bottle of water. You can guess what happened next, the lid on the water came off some how and my camera got an unneeded bath. This happened two nights before Halloween so I am devastated. Cary took it apart and tried to fix it but it's ruined. I got the video camera out for Halloween so our Halloween 2007 is documented but these are the only pictures I got............

Just imagine a tiger, Darth Vader, and a very hairy Longhorn fan. Boo Hoo!!!
