SOLD!!!
Ok....so our house has been sold for about a week now but I guess I just couldn't believe it would sell that quickly so I kept waiting for the buyers to come back and say,"Just Kidding". We put our house up for sell on a Wednesday, the buyers came through on Saturday, and made an offer on Monday. We went back and forth with them until we came to an agreement a few days later. They came through the house one more time for an "inspection" and they liked it. So we are officially moving. Our closing doesn't happen until the end of May so we have plenty of time to pack up and get the kids use to the idea of a new house and school. We are very excited!

Happy Birthday to Braeden!! (yesterday)
We had a very busy weekend, so my apologies to Braeden for not posting for him on his birhtday. Here are some pictures of his party. We went to Adventure Landing with 5 of his friends for unlimited laser tag, putt putt golf, and arcade games. We then came back to our house for pizza, cupcakes and presents. Braeden got lots of good presents. He got the basketball he has been wanting, a really cool bank that keeps count of the money you put in it, a remote control airplane, a walmart gift card, and lots of money. Money is apparently the gift to give these days. Braeden says now that he is nine he feels like he can sing with a deeper voice and he feels lazier. Happy Birthday, Braeden!! We love you!!

Braeden Finally Got a Haircut!
Before.......
During..........
Braeden decided to grow his hair out around Christmas time. I kept thinking he would eventually grow out of this after a few weeks of shaggy hair, but he continued to let it grow and grow. His original plan was to let it grow until the end of the school year and then shave his head. I think he decided that his hair was to long when he realized that having long, shaggy hair was to hot. He would come in really sweaty from playing and especially after soccer games. On Sunday when I was combing his hair I told him it was time to at least trim it up around his ears and neck and that is when he decided to just cut it all off. So on Monday after school he was ready to do it. We went into the back yard and started shaving it all off. He is glad that he did it. I think his head feels a lot lighter now.

Easter
The Easter Bunny didn't come to our house until after Church on Sunday. We go to church at 9:00a.m. so I asked the bunny to come while we were at church. I didn't want the baskets to be a distraction to the kids while trying to get ready. When we got home the baskets were hidden and the kids had to search the house for them. After that we went to our good friends the Flores's for dinner and an egg hunt. The food was delicious and the kids had a blast. It was a really good day.

Texas Blue Bonnets
I love Texas in the Springtime! I look forward to seeing the blue bonnets every year. There is a cemetery that is set up on a hill and the fields around it are covered in blue bonnets. We go there every year to take pictures of the kids. Braeden is starting to get annoyed by this tradition.....he is more interested in looking at the headstones. We had time to kill yesterday because of house showings so we stopped by and I just happen to have the camera. The kids aren't dressed in there best, but I still got some good pictures.

Easter Egg Hunt
The kids had their first Easter Egg Hunt of the season today. It was put on by the Library here in LE. They had 6,000 eggs thrown out onto a field. The kids went crazy. It was a little odd though. Instead of candy and prizes in the eggs they were filled with slips of paper to be redeemed at the library, and they had to give the plastic eggs back. I took them to the library to collect there junk....and it really was junk. They could get things like toys (mostly left over happy meal toys, dum dums, and books (about 10 to choose from to be exact). The kids really seem to enjoy it though. Kate was terrified of the Easter Bunny, and Braeden and Josh loved the mad dash to see who would get the most eggs. They all made out pretty well.

Braeden is a foster parent...........
This is Mater. He belongs to Braeden's teacher, Mrs. Moorehead. She isn't going to be in town all week for spring break so she drew names to see who would be the lucky student to take him home. Braeden won the drawing. Lucky us! He is kind of cute, but he stinks..........really stinks. The kids think he is great, but I can't wait for him to go home. Hopefully Bugsy won't get to him before Mrs. Moorehead's vacation is up.
3rd place goes to......

Grumpy Mornings
Joshua is not a morning person. He absolutely hates getting out of bed in the mornings. He loves to sleep and sleep and sleep until the last possible moment. The only time he hops out of bed is when there are doughnuts for breakfast. He is so looking forward to spring break next week. Only 5 more school days!!

I Have a Genius!
Ok....so Braeden may not be a genius, but he did score a 100 hundred on his Reading TAKS test. He was only 1 of three kids to do so. He was so stressed out about taking this test. I don't know why....the kid is really smart (not that I'm bragging). For those of you who do not live in Texas, the TAKS is a test that Texas students must take in order to go forward to the next grade. They start taking it in 3rd grade and then I think every year after that until High School. TAKS stands for Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. He will take the Math TAKS in May. I will let everyone know how he scores on that one.
