Bicycles and Toothbrushes
While I was bathing Kate the other night she asked me, "Mom, have you ever rode your bike and brushed your teeth at the same time?" I told her no and she said to me, "Now that would be talent." She cracks me up!

Future Politician?? - Update
Braeden gave his speech in class last week and it was a success from what he says......and I believe him because he WON. He is now the student council representative for his homeroom class.
Braeden also wanted me to post that his Football team won their game on Saturday. The score was 29 to 12. Go Lobos!!

Future Politician??
Braeden wants to be involved in everything. He is a Webelo in the Cub Scouts, plays football, and takes piano lessons. If he could he would be playing soccer and who knows what else. His new adventure is politics. On Monday he came home with a permission slip to run for student council. He has to give a short speech tomorrow to his class before the big vote. Here's his speech that took all of 5 minutes to write:
I should be elected because I will work to earn the rights of students. I will listen to the wants and the needs of students. I will be fair and honest in representing this class. I will work to earn more time at recess. I will make sure that all students are treated fairly, no matter what they're like. I will take all of your concerns to the counselor, principal, or vice principal and will try to get them resolved. Braeden Jones, right for fifth grade.....right for America! So vote for me. That is all.

Stake Conference

We had a "special" stake conference yesterday. Elder Russel M. Nelson was in attendance and gave a wonderful talk. Braeden was super excited about it. The session started at 10a.m. and we got there at 8:45 thinking we might get a half way decent seat. We still ended up in the gym in the hard chairs. Braeden was upset about that, but with 1,939 people there we were closer then most. Cary had Braeden and Joshua take their journals and record their thoughts. I was really impressed with what they wrote down. Here is a look into the mind of a 7 year old and his 10 year old brother..............
Joshua: First we sang a song and it was loud and wierd. Next we heard President Roberts and he said that when Jesus Christ was sacrificed that he had a crowen(crown) made out of thorns. then we heard a talk from president Alleman about mishinerey(missionary) work and when these people talk about Golden Nugits (nuggets). Next the choir sang a song and it was loud but butifll(beautiful). Then we heard from elder Martino and he said that a teenager Sgrugol (struggled) with Spanish but he did not cumplane(complain) for two years.
Braeden: It's still an hour 'till we start and I'm already feeling the spirit! I'm so excited to see Russell M. Nelson from the quorum of the twelve speak.............Elder Nelson has entered the room, and I learned that whenever a general authority enters a room , your supposed to stand up........If we all listen to the prophet there would be no bad things in the world........It is a huge blessing to be forgiven of our sins..........We can chase darkness away from others by telling them about the gospel........Whenever you look in the mirror, don't look at the freckles or pimples or warts. Just know that you are a son of god.

Two Peas in a Pod
Kaitlyn and I went to a Mother/Daughter Tea Party last night at church. I wasn't sure I was going to go until a friend (Alicia) convinced me to and I am glad we did. Kate loved that we looked like "twins". It was so fun! We matched from our head....our pony tails, down to our red shiny shoes. Believe it or not the only thing I had to buy was the black T-shirt for Kate. We had all the rest. I hate posting pictures of myself so here is a rare glimpse of me and my gorgeous daughter Kate.

Kate's Birthday
Kate loves all things animal print. So we had to do her party with an animal print theme. I had to throw some hot pink in to make it extra girly.
Kate got this cheetah along with an Eric Carle Book from our good friends the Flores's. She was in heaven.
Kate was very excited about getting the Camp Rock CD. She is so funny. She has really started noticing boys and she always lets me know if they are cute. The Jonas Brothers are definitely on her cute list.

And there Off......
Yesterday was the first day of school and the first time in 10 years that I have been home alone all day by myself. It was really quiet and I found myself looking at the clock counting down the hours until the kids came home. I worry now more that Kate is in school, but she was excited again this morning to get up and get ready so I guess that is a good sign. Braeden was especially nervous because he is going to a new school where he is changing classes every hour. He absolutely loved it though. I think he feels more grown up. Joshua was really nervous and shed a few tears, but he has come such a long way since kindergarten. Over all it was a really good first day of school.

Late Night
We had a YW "late night" last night. It was tons of fun! We made pizzas, played board games, rocked out to Rock Band, danced with Dance, Dance Revolution, ate lots of yummy treats, and watched Penelope (which was a super cute movie). We have such great, goofy girls in our ward! I love them to death!!
